Laekur is white with fine horns and a great conformation.  His wool has a bit of tan, is of medium quantity, and is described as "rather fine"*.  His back and loins are muscled, his leg is excellent, and his feet are correct.  He is described overall as a "vigorous and dashing sheep". His offspring grade very well and Laekur is on the top ten list in Iceland for meat classification. Progeny testing results are quite good for Laekur, specifically, (average scores) neck and shoulders 8.1, chest 8.5, back 8.4, rump 8.6, leg 17.2, wool 7.7 and overall harmony score of 8.1.  Laekur's BLUP leaness score is average at 100, muscling scores 117, composite is 107 and his effect is said to be very strong through the generations.
